Myleene Klass: Children must learn the value of money

Myleene Klass wants her children to learn "the value of money".

The 43-year-old singer - who has Hero, 10, and Ava, 13, with her ex-husband Graham Quinn and 20-month-old son Apollo with her fiancé Simon Motson - has revealed she doesn't give her kids any pocket money and that she wants them to earn their way in life, rather than living off her success.

She shared: "My daughter has started teaching (music). So, I don’t give her any pocket money because I think that they get enough. Otherwise, it starts getting ridiculous, they have to learn the value of money.

"So she is now teaching and she’s got six pupils now. It teaches her time management, she’s got to be organised with it, she’s got to plan her lessons and she then has to manage her money.

"She’s got a little ledger, both girls get ledgers, so they know how to manage their money. I think it’s so important for women especially, to understand how to manage their money.

"As women, we’re often the ones that get left behind, we don’t want to ask for our pay rise, and we’re not always on top of our finances."

Myleene also revealed that she views money in an "abstract way".

And she's determined to teach her kids good habits when it comes to handling their cash.

The former Hear'Say star told 'Made By Mammas: The Podcast': "Money is an abstract concept like music, so I treat it in an abstract way.

"So I get pasta pieces and I give all the girls their ‘wages’, put it all out on the table. And then we put the pot in the middle and I say right, here’s the house, let’s do the household budget."
