CS:GO: Dev1ce Leaves Astralis And Signs With NiP

Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz has started a new journey with NiP.

Ninjas in Pyjamas have signed dev1ce on a three-year contract from Astralis. According to the Danish organization, the transfer was a personal request made by dev1ce himself, who thought it was best for him to move to NiP.

Kasper Hvidt, Director of Sports in Astralis, showed his appreciation for dev1ce and described how much the 25-year-old has contributed to the team. He also mentioned how difficult it would be to replace someone like Nicolai. And that it would be a tremendous challenge for the organization.

Times have been tough for dev1ce, who had his say on the move:

“The past year with COVID and everything else associated has been incredibly tough for all of us. Living far from the office, not being able to meet your teammates, online and virtual training and playing from afar has been challenging. It has become clear, how much I miss having a team and an organization close to me, and for so many reasons the time simply feels right to change things up and find myself in all this.”

He also thanked the whole organization for their incredible support and cooperation in making this move possible. Dev1ce also described how much he would cherish the time with Astralis, on the team, in the office, with the performance group and all the partners. He also expressed his gratitude towards the fans for their support and how significant they are to him and Counter-Strike.

There has been no information on the financial details of the transfer. But it's safe to consider it one of the biggest signings in recent times for the CS:GO scene.
