First Lady Jill Biden participated in a tree-planting ceremony on the North Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C.

In observation of Arbor Day, Biden put three shovels full of dirt around the base of a newly planted Linden tree that replaced one that was removed last month because it was accessed a risk due to decay.

She wore heels, a skirt and a double breasted blazer. “Who doesn’t plant trees in high heels?” she said.

Biden told NBC that she was preparing for the family’s cat to arrive at the White House “pretty soon.” She said their dog Major was being trained before the cat’s arrival after having had two biting incidents since moving to the White House.
