Twitter is finally letting you search your private messages on Android

Strangely, this feature was previously not available on Android, but it is now. Twitter users will now be able to search in their private messages. The social network is already planning to push this service even further.

It took two years for Twitter to launch this feature on Android. It was back in 2019 that the social network unveiled the innovation, but only for devices under iOS. On May 13, Twitter Support announced the deployment of the search bar also for users under Android : "We've brought the DM search bar to Android and are rolling out an improved version that lets you search for all of your old convos, not just the most recent ones."

"Waiting for the option to search your DMs for message content? We're working on releasing that later this year!" added Twitter. In addition to this new feature on Android, Twitter is already planning to improve the search system. It will soon be possible to search for a word in a conversation within your private messages. At present, only the names of the users will appear in the searches.

While Twitter has not indicated, for the moment, the countries where this search bar for private messages was launched on the application using Android, in France, this service was still not available at time of writing.
