Fox News host Tucker Carlson Wednesday criticized Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) over her comments that she would only do interviews with minority reporters, calling her a “monster.”

“Lori Lightfoot is a monster,” Carlson said during his Fox News show Wednesday. “Any society that allows politicians to talk like this has a very ugly future ahead.”

Carlson went on by comparing the mayor to a Nazi.

“If someday the Chicago police rounded up the entire population of the city, Lori Lightfoot would have no trouble pulling the right ones out of line for punishment,” Carlson said. “By the way, in case you’re wondering, yes, that was a Nazi reference. It was deserved.”

Carlson’s criticism followed as Lightfoot announced Wednesday that she will only give one-on-one interviews for the two-year anniversary of her inauguration to reporters of color.

“Diversity and inclusion is imperative across all institutions including media,” Lightfoot tweeted. “This is exactly why I’m being intentional about prioritizing media requests from POC reporters on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of my inauguration as mayor of this great city.”

“This is an imbalance that needs to change. Chicago is a world-class city. Our local media should reflect the multiple cultures that comprise it.”
