Rosario Dawson: Moving to New Jersey was the start of a new chapter

Rosario Dawson started a “new chapter” of her life after moving in with her boyfriend Cory Booker.

The 42-year-old actress relocated to Newark, New Jersey, to live with the senator last summer and has now said it felt “really beautiful and good” to take her romance with Cory to the next level.

She told People magazine: "It was an amazing adventure. My family are all in New York. It felt really beautiful and good to start a new chapter of my life in the driver's seat."

Rosario made the 3,000-mile trip from California to New Jersey in an RV, and also travelled with her father, Greg, who accompanied her in moving across the country so that he can be close to her while he battles pancreatic cancer.

Meanwhile, Cory previously said he and Rosario have had an “incredibly enriching” life together since moving into the same property.

He said: “I have not done that, really, as a bachelor, where I actually sit at a table and just, like, breathe and eat a meal. And just set a table - I can't tell you how rarely do I set the table as a bachelor, you know, as a guy living alone. So it's just really nice to set a table, have somebody to say grace with, before a meal. It's just those small things really are, I'm finding, incredibly enriching.”

Rosario announced her plan to move in with Cory last year, after she was forced to go months without seeing him whilst she quarantined with her parents during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

When asked what she missed most amid the health crisis, she said: "My boyfriend. I haven't seen him since February. He is by himself, going between Newark and DC.

"I'm actually in the process of moving, by the way. I'm going to New Jersey. I'm moving to Newark ...

"I'm moving in with my boyfriend, because it's time. We were thinking about moving in together anyway, but especially during all of this, it's been really intense."
