State GOP Leaders Visit Arizona 2020 Election Audit In Effort To Copy Formula

PHOENIX, AZ - MAY 01: Protestors in support of former President Donald Trump gather outside Veterans Memorial Coliseum where Ballots from the 2020 general election wait to be counted on May 1, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Maricopa County...

Three Pennsylvania Republican lawmakers, state Sens. Doug Mastriano and Cris Dush, and state Rep. Rob Kauffman, have made their way to Arizona to see how that state’s election “audit” could be transferred to their state. Arizona has become the focus of election conspiracy theories and has developed into a center for political extremism. The state is reviewing the 2.1 million ballots cast in last year’s election in Maricopa County, which broke heavily for President Joe Biden, for potential fraud, though no evidence has been found.

Now, GOP state leaders are looking to export Arizona’s audit process to other states controlled by Republicans.

The audit was requested by the Republican-majority state Senate and is being completed by the company Cyber Ninjas, which has no previous experience leading election audits. The recount has been widely criticized by politicians, including Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who claims the environment is “prime for cooking the books” and securing the results which the recounters desire. Hobb recently became a gubernatorial candidate.
