Mr. Benz reviews the 2021 Brabus Rocket 900

Meet the car that made 2020 so much better

At first glance the 2021 GT900 Rocket Brabus screams devilish beauty. Mr. Benz, a top vehicle reviewer, could not help but to exclaim his surprise upon seeing this machine. “What have you guys done at Brabus? Just look at this beauty!” The Mercedes-Benz content creator had the rare pleasure of being introduced to this gem, identifying it as one of the main highlights of 2020.

At the heart of this rare gem lies the Brabus Rocket 900 Biturbo V8 increased-displacement 4.5 litre engine. A high-performance forced induction system ensures that a peak output of 662 kW or 900 horsepower is achieved. The impressive peak torque of 1,250 Nm is limited in the vehicle to 1,050 Nm. The guttural growl of the engine is more than enough to send shivers of anticipation racing down one’s spine.

An Exclusive Beauty

It is not often that one will find ultra rare cars premiering Youtube well in advance before the official release, however the gentlemen at Mr. Benz only felt it right to introduce the world to this elusive specimen. Only 10 vehicles in this particular model have been made.

The exterior exam reveals that Brabus refined the car. “New wheels, new front, wider body and new rear, plus full refined interior,” perfectly compliments the stealth gray paintwork. “As you have a closer look there are a lot of changes, but something that’s still similar to the stock car are the headlights. As you see the GT4, those specific headlights. These are the multi-beam LEDs. These are stock,” Mr. Benz drew attention to the carbon details in the headlights as well. The updated grille gives the vehicle a viciously sporty look.

Under The Hood

“Unfortunately, guys, I heard, yes, Brabus is doing a new Rocket 900 based on the GT 63 S. I thought they would put a V12 inside this car, but they did not. But still they managed to push the V8 AMG engine. We talked about 639 brake horsepower, they pushed it up to 900!” Mr. Benz revealed that this was done through extending the engine displacement, turning a 4.0 liter stock engine into a 4.5 liter roaring beast.

It’s worth remembering that the standard AMG GT 63 S only offers up to 470 kW and 900 Nm, but the modifications Mr. Benz drew attention to, see the Rocket 900 delivering an astounding 662 kW and 1250 Nm of torque. This is an increase of almost 192kW and 150 Nm over the standard model. As the clichéd movie quote goes, with great power comes great responsibility, which led to the drivetrain being protected with an electronic limiter.

Capable of leaping from zero to 100 in 2.8 seconds flat, the Rocket certainly lives up to its name. Zero to 200 is easily achieved in 9.7 seconds while zero to 300 will take a scant 23.9 seconds.

Once in a Lifetime Experience

Current and future fans have been delighted for the past 6 years with sneak-peaks at some of the most iconic vehicles manufactured to date. In an exclusive reveal, Mr. Benz teased some exciting developments in the near horizon, specifically aimed at their fans.

“We have already planned some cool things. For example, we want to do a giveaway and then fly in followers from abroad. And then they can also experience some nice and cool cars with us. We’ll be showing, for example, Mercedes-Benz factory, Brabus factory, and the latest cars around… We have a lot of passionate people in our audience, who don’t actually have the opportunity to drive the latest cars. That’s what we are going to do.”

The motivation behind this gesture is rooted in the deep sense of community that the gentlemen at Mr. Benz have. Always engaging and reaching out to their audience, the decision to fly followers in was a no-brainer.

“As they make us happy and support us throughout our adventure, I think it’s very important to do so. I mean, they are the people who are allowing all of these opportunities through supporting us. And giving them something back, it’s obvious for us. No doubt. Therefore, there will be a lot of things coming in the future.”

Mr. Benz invites the eyes of the world to watch this space as they grow into one of the leading voices in the automotive industry.
