Wander Franco has been the number one prospect in Major League Baseball for some time. He made that well-known with a three-run, game-tying bomb in his first game in the big leagues.
The Rays’ highly-touted prospect tied the game at 5 during the 5th inning, and in doing so became the youngest player since B.J. Upton to homer for Tampa Bay. Franco walked in his first at-bat. Following his home run, he doubled and then grounded out.
Franco will look to continue his hot start at the plate and capitalize on an auspicious start to his major league career.
