Marvel's Avengers update to allow players to play same heroes

'Marvel's Avengers' gamers will be able to play the same superhero as other players with the next update.

After a successful test run event called Tachyon Anomaly, Square Enix has teased that from next month, multiple players can play the same character on the same team.

In a Roadmap update, they announced: "Finally, due to your feedback, we're permanently turning on the ability to play multiple of the same Hero during matchmaking and when forming Strike Teams." If you ever played Marvel Heroes and enjoyed seeing three Hulks running around together, you'll get a kick out of that.

What's more, players can expect the Omega-Level Threat: Family Reunion, "our toughest content to date … which culminates in a chaotic fight against the Super-Adaptoid – this time, with astonishing new abilities."

Meanwhile, the title's War for Wakanda expansion was recently unveiled.

The free expansion, which will be available in August, is focused on Black Panther as he explores the fictional country of Wakanda and fights Klaw, who is on a mission to steal Vibranium, with players tasked with stopping him.

The official description for the expansion read: "Black Panther must defend Wakanda from Klaw, who seeks to steal Vibranium for his own desires."
