Prince William, Duchess Catherine and Prince George cheer on England to famous Euro 2020 win

Prince William, Duchess Catherine and Prince George cheered on England as they trounced Germany 2-0 at Euro 2020.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their seven-year-old son were among the crowd at Wembley Stadium, north London, on Tuesday night (29.06.21) to see the Round of 16 action first-hand as Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane ended 55 years of hurt as England secured their first win over Germany in a major tournament knockout game since the 1966 World Cup final.

A tweet on the official Twitter account of William - who is a huge fan of Premier League heavyweights Aston Villa - and Catherine read: "Incredible performance @England! #GERENG (sic)"

William pumped his fists in celebration as Villa captain Jack Grealish, Man City star Sterling, and Spurs and England skipper Kane inspired England to a famous victory.

The duke - who is the President of The Football Association - was spotted whispering to George throughout the game, which sparked into life in the second half as Sterling opened the scoring 75 minutes into the match, and Kane put the finishing touches on a solid performance with just minutes left on the clock.

William, Catherine, and George looked delighted as the final whistle blew, as England booked a quarter-final tie against Ukraine in Rome on Saturday (03.07.21).

The royal trio sat in front of several stars at Wembley, including Ed Sheeran - who wore a replica kit for the occasion - and his wife Cherry Seaborn.

Three Lions legend David Beckham, and his 18-year-old son Romeo, singer Ellie Goulding, and former England goalkeeper David Seaman and his wife Frankie Seaman were also there to cheer on England manager Gareth Southgate and his troops.

William - who also has kids Princess Charlotte, six, Prince and Louis, three, with Catherine - and George both dressed smartly in suits for the occasion, and the duchess sported a red jacket over a white top for the historic occasion.
