New MAGA App, GETTR, Tied To Bannon’s Chinese Billionaire Ally Guo Wengui

Donald Trump’s spokesman Jason Miller recently announced that GETTR, a Chinese-language site for anti-communist dissidents, will re-launch as a pro-MAGA free-speech social media platform.

This news comes just days after exiled Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui, who runs a Chinese-language media network with Trump adviser Steve Bannon, posted a video encouraging viewers to back up posts to GETTR. “Today I have to post this video on our G-TV to inform everybody that everything is fine, because the GETTR platform is adjusting,” he said. “GETTR is not ours, so we should follow the instructions. Right? GETTR is cleaning up all the data and accounts. Afterwards, everybody has to re-register their accounts.”

According to Miller, GETTR was funded by Guo’s “family foundation.” However, Guo has “no formal role” and has not “contributed any money.” Guo is apparently “not part of the business day to day.”

Miller added: “His family foundation is part of the international consortium of investors who gave seed money.”

Since Trump was banned from major social media platforms in January, many MAGA supporters have been craving a network that would allow them to “speak freely” and stick it to Big Tech. The app Parler was de-platformed by Amazon for its role in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

One user wrote a review of the GETTR app, stating: “Finally there is a platform for freely disseminating the truth. Thanks to Mr. Wengui who broke the news that the revolution has created such a free-sounding platform.”
