Valorant: Envy Adds Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker Ahead Of VCT Playoffs

Yay is the firepower Envy needs.

Today, Team Envy announced the signing of Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker to its Valorant team. The announcement was made just a few hours ago through the official Team Envy Twitter handle. However, the news did not come as much of a surprise for various Valorant pundits. Andbox has been trying new players, and as a result of that, he and Noah “JcStani” Smith were left behind.

Though the move was predicted, the transfer was expected to take place only after the playoffs, considering that the teams only have a week before the crucial tournament. Additionally, this is the second addition to the roster in recent times. The team recently acquiring Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen on loan from FaZe Clan.

To accommodate the addition of the new signing, Team Envy has decided to move Anthony "mummAy" DiPaolo to a reserve role. With mummAy being benched, Yay can now continue providing his service as the new operator supreme for Team Envy. He is expected to debut with his new team against TSM in the first match of the upcoming VCT Challenger Stage 3 Playoffs on August 11.

Yay's time at Andbox

Yay has had exceptional performances on Jett for Andbox in the last year. Overall, he has been one of the reasons why Andbox is considered a top-tier team in NA and why the team qualified for various VCT events, like the Stage 2 Challenger Main Event Finals. Even in his last match for Andbox, he finished the series with 77 Kills (three Maps) against a formidable TSM.
