Learn how to experience the March Through Time creative event in Fortnite Battle Royale.
Epic Games has partnered with TIME Studios to produce an in-game walk-through of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech in Fortnite Battle Royale. Dubbed “March Through Time,” players will teleport to D.C. 63, a reimagined Washington, DC as it appeared in 1963. The celebration honors the American Baptist minister and activist who made his iconic speech for Civil Rights.

Fortnite creators ChaseJackman, GQuanoe, XWDFr and YU7A helped recreate the scene as it was on August 28, 1963, when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. broke barriers and spoke publicly about Civil liberties and rights. A snippet from Epic Games’ blog post details what participants can expect when joining the March Through Time.
“The experience extends with museum-inspired points of interest, and collaborative mini-game quests you complete with others. These activities progress players through the experience and bring to life important themes of Dr. King’s speech: we move forward when we work together.”
Epic Games worked with TIME Studios, JuVee Productions, Digital Domain, V.A.L.I.S studio and Ryot to bring this idea to life. Additionally, contributions by American Family Insurance, the DuSable Museum of African American History, and the Estate of Martin Luther King, Jr also made this experience possible.
How to Unlock D.C. 63 Spray
While educating the masses about one of the most critical times in history is the primary goal, those who participate can earn an in-game spray after completing challenges. To collect the reward, simply stay inside the March Through Time experience for 20 minutes. Upon exiting, you should see the D.C. 63 Spray in your inventory.
Epic did not give an end date for this March Through Time, so it will likely stick around for a week or possibly even longer. The anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s speech is August 28, 1963.
