Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt has agreed to a four-year, $112 million extension to stay in Pittsburgh through 2025, a deal that will make him the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player.

Watt will be making on average $28 million a year, topping Chargers’ defensive end Joey Bosa who currently leads at $27 million per year.

The outside linebacker is coming off an excellent 2020 campaign during which he led the AFC in sacks with 15.

T.J. Watt’s brother, future Hall of Fame defensive end J.J. Watt chimed in with a funny tweet. “@_TJWatt should I send those outstanding IOU’s to your accountant or do you want to just Venmo me?”
