There’s clearly no sibling rivalry in the Watt family.
Pittsburgh’s (8-7-1) T.J. Watt broke the 20-sack mark—with 21.5, to be exact—for the season with a four-sack performance Monday night in a 26-14 win over the Browns (7-9).
T.J.’s big brother J.J. Watt then chimed in with the following:
It becomes the 27-year-old’s fourth straight season with double-digit sacks, and the four-time Pro Bowler is the likely choice for the Defensive Player of the Year award. Though, of course, there is still a game remaining on the schedule.
Only 12 players in NFL history have joined the 20-sack club in a single season, with Hall of Famer Michael Strahan holding the record with 22.5, accomplished during the 2001 campaign with the New York Giants.
The elder Watt posted 20.5 sacks in both the 2012 and 2014 seasons.
