Nothing good happens outside of a strip club. Ever. But especially when you’re an NFL player wearing jewelry worth more than most people’s annual salary.
Just ask Gus Edwards.
The Baltimore Ravens running back says his diamond chain and watch were among the items taken at gunpoint outside of Crazy Girls late last year. Now he’s suing the gentleman’s club and its valet service—blaming them for the robbery.
It all started, the 26-year-old says, when he and his friend Loomis Zayzay were at the establishment on December 11. The former drove his vehicle to the valet stand before the pair then entered the club and paid for a security-guarded private area. An employee scuffle about an hour later led to the two leaving, and when they went to retrieve the car from the valet, five masked men got out of a car and robbed them at gunpoint.
The litigation says the player’s $50,000 custom necklace and $25,000 watch were taken, as was Zayzay’s $60,000 watch. The lawsuit adds that video shows Crazy Girls security guards making no attempt to intervene.
Furthermore, an anonymous Instagram message sent to the player a week after the incident reads, “set up by the valet.” The message also allegedly says that the jewelry was taken to a local store.
The suit asks for more than $800,000 in damages.
