President Joe Biden received his second Covid-19 booster shot at the White House on Wednesday.
After the FDA approval of a second booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines for adults 50 and older, Biden decided to receive a booster the next day. Biden got his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine in December 2020 and the second dose following in January 2021. Both were televised along with his first Pfizer booster shot.
“I’m doing this to demonstrate that people should be prepared when it’s available to take the vaccine,” Biden said while receiving his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine in 2020.
Katie Bedingfield, White House communications director, said the president would only receive a fourth dose “if his doctor recommends it.” Ultimately, the decision was at the discretion of Biden’s doctor.
