The rich continue to get richer, as former Titans and Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is set to sign with Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a one-year deal.

The seven-time Pro-Bowler will be just another weapon in the arsenal that Tom Brady is going into his 21st season. the 45-year-old quarterback goes into 2022 with a plethora of options. The wide receiver room on the Bucs already includes Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, who are both former Pro Bowlers, Tyler Johnson, Scott Miller and Breshad Permian.

This offseason, they also added Russell Gage who is also a former Atlanta Falcon. Godwin is still recovering from an ACL tear that he sustained last season, however, he enters training camp without being placed on the PUP list.

The Bucs also brought in veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph to replace Rob Gronkowski who elected to retire last month.

Jones is widely considered to be a future first-ballot Hall-of-Famer. The 33-year-old is the Falcons’ all-time leader in catches and yards. He also had the best receiving yards per game average in NFL history at 91.9 yards per game. He was traded to the Tennessee Titans prior to last season but ended up having a disappointing campaign with the teams.

In his one season with Tennessee, Jones recorded career lows in catches (31), yards (434) and only had one touchdown during the season. The explosive receiver still averaged 14 yards per catch and looks to be a key piece for the Bucs in a potential Super Bowl run, similar to the role Antonio Brown played during the Bucs’ 2021 Super Bowl win.

Jones was a standout receiver at the University of Alabama and was selected sixth overall in 2011 by the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons had traded two first-round picks, a second-rounder and two fourth-round picks to Cleveland to be able to select Jones.
