Former Secretary Of State Mike Pompeo Interviewed By Jan 6. Committee

NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 20: U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo attends a Security Council meeting at the United Nations on August 20, 2019 in New York City. Prior to the meeting on the Middle East, Pompeo acknowledged that ISIS has gained ground...

As the January 6 Committee takes a short break to collect more information, new details have emerged about the second round of witnesses being questioned. Mike Pompeo, the former secretary of state, was recently questioned by the Committee, it has been revealed.

The investigation so far has been damning for Donald Trump‘s legacy. The past sessions have focused on the events prior to and during the insurrection at the Capitol. Now, the Committee is set to investigate Trump’s cabinet members.

It has also been reported that former Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia, Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller, Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and former Attorney General Bill Barr have also been questioned.

Pompeo specifically is a key witness to Trump’s chaotic last days as he suggested using the 25th Amendment to remove the president.

What information the Committee is specifically seeking is currently unknown. But the investigation is leaning heavily on Trump’s inner circle tied with the Trump Administration.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming), who was defeated for her seat last week by a Trump ally, stated the investigators “anticipate talking to additional members of the President’s Cabinet.”

She continued: “We anticipate talking to additional members of his campaign. Certainly, we’re very focused as well on the Secret Service and on interviewing additional members of the Secret Service and collecting additional information from them.”

The Committee is set to resume televised hearings in September.
