Lindsey Graham Warns Of ‘Riots In The Streets’ If Trump Is Indicted Over Classified Documents

WASHINGTON, DC - SEPTEMBER 27: U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham speaks during testimony by U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh before the Senate Judiciary Committee at the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill September 27, 2018 in...

Sen. Lindsey Graham(R-South Carolina) predicted on Sunday that if former PresidentDonald Trump is prosecuted over classified White House documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence, there will be a revolt among Republicans.

Graham added that if legal action is brought against Trump “after the Clinton debacle, there will be riots in the streets.”

Graham also noted that he and many other Republicans believe that Trump is treated with a “double standard,” and that it’s all about “getting him,” whereas in other cases, like Hunter Biden‘s laptop, the FBI was told to “back off.”

“I’ve never been more worried about the law and politics as I am right now,” he concluded.

Trump shared a video of Graham’s comments, which came during an appearance on Fox News’s Sunday Night in America.

In the video, Graham is referring to the Justice Department’s investigation into whether or not Trump illegally took and stored classified White House documents at Mar-a-Lago at the end of his presidency rather than turning them in to the National Archives, as is required under the Presidential Records Act.

The FBI executed a search warrant earlier this month as a part of the probe, indicating a ramping up of the criminal investigation as a judge was needed to sign off on the warrant. They reportedly found 11 sets of secret government documents, some of which are said to pertain to nuclear information.

There is little other public information regarding the papers.
