In the lead-up to his new film Black Adam, former wrestler turned movie superstar Dwayne Johnson has assured the world that he is no longer considering running for President as he had been previously.

According to a recent interview, Johnson is much more interested in raising his young daughters than becoming president.

In 2021, Johnson responded to a public poll where 46% of Americans polled stunningly said they would consider voting for The Rock in a presidential election.

“I do have a goal to unite our country and I also feel that if this is what the people want, then I will do that,” Johnson said at the time.

Johnson spoke about his political future on CBS This Morning, during a wide-reaching interview where he spoke about the beginnings of his wrestling career, early difficulties, and the friendships that got him through it.

“It’s off the table,” Johnson confirmed to CBS anchor Tracy Smith. “I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy,” he added. “Especially during this time, this critical time in my daughter’s lives, because I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years in my first daughter’s [childhood].”

Johnson’s eldest daughter, Simone Johnson, is 21 now and has been performing with WWE under a contract since February, 2020. Johnson had Simone with his ex-wife Dany Garcia.

He now shares young daughters Jasmine, 6 and Tiana, 4, with his second wife, Lauren Hashian.

Dwayne Johson’s latest film, Black Adam, will be released on October 21.

Not only is he the star of this film, but Johnson has been heavily involved in the production for the project.

He was initially supposed to appear as Black Adam in the recent Shazam! film, but Johnson successfully lobbied for a solo feature film as the antihero.
