Presidential Secretariat Construction in Indonesia's New Capital to be Completed by late 2024 The buildings will comprise the Presidential Secretariat, Presidential Security Detail dormitory, and supporting buildings.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com \- State-owned construction firm PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk has set a target of completing the construction of the Presidential Secretariat Building and other supporting buildings in Nusantara capital city (IKN), East Kalimantan, by late 2024.

The project will be built on 50,678 square meters of land, with the total area of the buildings spanning 33,312 square meters, Waskita SVP Corporate Secretary Novianto Ari Nugroho said in a statement on Monday, Nov. 7.

The buildings will comprise the Presidential Secretariat, Presidential Security Detail dormitory, and supporting buildings.

"It will take 720 calendar days to achieve the target of completing the construction of the buildings at the end of 2024," he said.

Waskita Karya had secured a new contract for the construction of the Presidential Secretariat and supporting buildings worth 1.35 trillion rupiahs ($86.2 million) in the new capital city.

Novianto said the company was proud of securing the contract.

"The company will use all its best resources to realize the project properly. From the company's experience, we are convinced that the project can be completed with the right quality and on schedule according to the contract," he said.

Earlier, Waskita Karya had also won two tenders for the construction of the Simpang Tempadung comprising the Jembatan Pulau Balang section of the IKN toll road worth 990 billion rupiahs (63.2 million) and the section of the Sepaku ring road worth 182 billion rupiahs (11.6 million).

In total, Waskita Karya won tenders for IKN projects worth 2.55 trillion rupiahs (162.8 million).
