After a run on quarterbacks to start the 2024 NFL Draft, it looks like there will be a gap between QB6 and QB7. Bo Nix went to the Denver Broncos at No. 12 overall, leaving Spencer Rattler as the likely next quarterback to go off the board. As the second round prepares to begin, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport rattled off some potential destinations for Rattler – although he could wind up waiting a little longer to hear his name called. Rapoport said the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders both took close looks at quarterbacks during the pre-draft process, and they could be in play for Rattler af...

The Atlanta Falcons were the story of the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft after they selected Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. at No. 8 overall. It was a stunner for those in the ATL and got quite the reactions out of On3’s Phillip Dukes. Dukes, a Falcons fan himself, joined during ‘Andy Staples On3’ on Friday to discuss the franchise’s choice of Penix Jr.. He said that he has been reconciling with the selection ever since, regardless of how good the former Husky is and could be, because he just doesn’t fit what Atlanta needed right now. “Man, I’ve been up all night, man,” said Dukes. “I’ve d...

Dallas Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones recently said that the team will “more than likely” not pick up the fifth-year option on quarterback Trey Lance. “We won’t get into that,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. “We’ll kind of see how things go but obviously, being a quarterback, we know how high those options are. It’s more than likely that we won’t pick it up.” The San Francisco 49ers originally selected Lance with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State. Lance suited up in just eight games (four starts) for San Francisco, throwing for 797 yards with five touchdowns and t...

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin gleaned draft information anywhere he could find it. That’s how he learned a lot about his future first rounder — a Washington star — while attending the Alabama Pro Day. Pittsburgh selected offensive tackle Troy Fautanu with the 20th pick of the NFL Draft. The big Husky lineman slipped some because of a perceived knee issue. But Tomlin had done his homework on everything related to Fautanu. He picked up some info last month when all the Alabama stars put on a show for their Pro Day in Tuscaloosa. That’s when Tomlin asked new Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer about Fautanu....

Former Penn State defensive end Adisa Isaac is one of the bigger available names in the 2024 NFL Draft after the first round wrapped up Thursday. Isaac, though highly productive during his time in Happy Valley, didn’t sneak into the back half of the first round, but could be among the first players taken Friday on Day 2. Whichever team ends up taking Isaac, Charles Davis of NFL Media feels they’ll be getting a steal. “It’s easy for me to root for Isaac,” Davis wrote. “A loving and dedicated brother to three non-verbal siblings, he provided a pillar of support for his family from a young age. NFL officials have come under scrutiny in recent years for controversial calls which have impacted the outcome of games. The NFL notably doesn’t use full-time officials and most have other occupations. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show” Friday in Detroit after the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft Thursday, explained why the league doesn’t employ full-time officials. Goodell said while it’s something they’ve looked at, the human element means officials are bound to make mistakes from time to time. Goodell said the NFL is counteracting that by introducing more tec...
