Don Mattingly appears set to join the Toronto Blue Jays‘ coaching staff. The former manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins is in “deep discussions” with the Canadian baseball franchise, the New York Post reports. The official announcement could come as soon as this weekend. Mattingly is best known for his track record as a player. On Thursday, the New York Metsfaced off against the Miami Marlins in what seemed to be a normal game, until a controversial finish. In the bottom of the ninth inning, with one out and the bases loaded, the game was tied at two. Mets slugger Michael Conforto had the opportunity to win the game.
