Switzerland comes out top as the best place to do business in Europe, according to a recent report by PwC. Most of the highest-ranking countries considered best for business were in northern Europe. PwC's Private Business Attractiveness Index 2023 looked at 33 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), judging them on nine categories and looked at 64 sets of numbers across the different categories. Four Canadian school boards have announced a lawsuit against Meta, Snapchat and TikTok "for disruption to the education system". Under the proposal, presented on Wednesday, universities from EU countries would team up to offer joint study programmes at Bachelor, Master or Doctoral levels that would then result in EU-branded degrees recognised across the bloc. Afghanistan's school year has begun, but girls will not be visible in many of its classrooms. The Taliban has barred female pupils from attending classes beyond the sixth grade, making it the only country with formal restrictions on female education. The UN children's agency says more than 1 million girls are affected by the ban. It also estimates 5 million were out of school before the Taliban takeover thanks to a lack of facilities and other factors.
