I learned a lot about Troy Dannen real fast! You'll see me react LIVE on the show as I'm reading information out loud. I did a lot of research & a lot of information was sent to me from people I know. I was also texted from a couple of the candidates for the AD job, that didn't get the job. I can see why Troy was hired, what he's accomplished & his midwestern ties, correlate directly to Nebraska! -Adam Related: Dennis Leblanc Carriker Chronicles Interview

After less than one week after the position being available, Nebraska has hired a new Athletics Director. Troy Dannen - formerly of Washington, Tulane, and Northern Iowa - has been announced as the new AD. I don't have any opinions on Dannen. I'll freely admit that I had never heard his name until I saw the Pete Thamel tweet about the hire. I'm guessing I'm not alone in that. That got me thinking: Athletic Director is an interesting job. At many schools (such as Nebraska), the AD is one of the most well-known figures in the state. Some ADs - such as those at schools like Ohio State, Michigan, ...

I know we're finalizing a deal with our next AD, but this is one of my favorite interviews I've ever done!! Dennis Leblanc talks about Trev Alberts leaving, why Nebraska sports are on the rise/how we stay ahead of the curve, how Matt Rhule has forced EVERYBODY to raise their game & Dennis talks about yours truly, Will Compton, then he shares hilarious stories about Tom Osborne & Christian Peter! -Adam Related: Carriker Chronicles: Gut Reaction to Trev Alberts' Exit

Nebraska has their new athletic director. University of Nebraska Interim President Chris Kabourek announced Wednesday morning that Troy Dannen has been hired for the position. Dannen has ties to the Midwest with roots in Iowa. Dannen has served as the Director of Athletics at the University of Washington since October. Prior to that, he lead Tulane (2015-23) and Northern Iowa (2008-15). “From my first conversation with Troy Dannen, I knew he was a perfect fit for Nebraska,” Kabourek said. “He is a fierce competitor, he holds himself and his programs to uncommonly high standards, and he cares p...

Nebraska Athletic Director Trev Alberts' abrupt departure to Texas A&M has had fans wondering if Husker head football coach Matt Rhule might be inclined to take his services elsewhere. Rhule, however, said Monday that he isn't going anywhere and is committed to building his program in Lincoln. In this special "House Call" installment of Husker Doc Talk, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice discuss Rhule's remarks as well as what Alberts said during his introductory press conference Monday in College Station, Texas.

The more I find out about Trev Alberts and his unexpected abdication as Nebraska’s athletics director, the less sense it seems to make, especially when I examine the most prevalent narratives tossed out to explain his departure. One of the narratives, which claims he fled Lincoln for Texas A&M to escape the spotlight from the sexual harassment lawsuit filed recently by former NU women’s basketball player Ashley Scoggin, has never made sense to me, because Alberts will continue to be named as one of the defendants in the suit, even though he has moved to College Station. We’ll lay that one asid...

It is so important when you are recruiting to get a head start on the classes that follow behind the class you are currently in. After the Huskers' 2024 class wrapped up following their big-fish commitment of quarterback Dylan Raiola, the Huskers turned their focus to the class of 2025 … partially. They are also recruiting the classes of 2026 and 2027 to keep a healthy ongoing relationship with their future top targets. Jarius Rodgers is a 6-foot-5, 200-pound edge rusher from Fleming Island High School in Orange Park, Florida. He is a 2026 prospect who recently received his Nebraska offer. He ...

Roughly 24 hours after the news was official that Trev Alberts was departing his post as Nebraska athletic director, an interim has been named. University of Nebraska Interim President Chris Kabourek has appointed Dennis Leblanc to serve as interim athletic director. Leblanc has been executive associate AD for academics since 2015. Leblanc has been with Huskers Athletics for more than 40 years, having joined in 1983 as a member of the track and field staff. "Dennis loves Nebraska, he cares deeply about the young women and men in our program, and he has a proven record of supporting their acade...
