On the 15 April 1874, a newly formed collective of artists put their works on show for the first time together. The show, at 35 Boulevard des Capucines, featured the likes of Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sisley, Berthe Morisot and Paul Cézanne. Milan's Palazzo Reale is celebrating 150 years since the birth of Impressionism with an exhibition of works by the godfathers of the movement, French artists Paul Cézanne and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. 52 of their paintings are on display, dating from the 1870s to the early 20th century.
