San Francisco (AFP) - Advocates for children from around the world urged Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday to ditch plans for a version of Instagram geared toward pre-teens. Instagram now letting some users hide the 'Like' count on posts

Instagram is continuing its experiment with not displaying the amount of Likes a post gets. Users in a small global test group are now able to decide in future if they want to hide the number of Likes on the posts they see. The users in the test group are also able to turn off the Like counts for their own posts. Work is also underway on a similar option on Facebook, the Instagram owner announced on Wednesday. Instagram dabbles with letting people hide 'likes'

San Francisco (AFP) - Instagram on Wednesday said it is dabbling with letting users hide "like" counts in an effort to ease the pressure of seeking approval from others. If an experiment at Instagram shows the option is a hit, it could be made permanent and even extended to Facebook, which owns the image-centric social network.
