He was an All-Big 12 honorable mention last season and averaged nearly 15 points per game. Kaluma began his college career at Creighton before he transferred to Kansas State ahead of last season. Arkansas and new head coach John Calipari are prohibitive contenders for Kaluma, though plent...

To get the ball rolling for Wednesday’s action, Kansas State handed West Virginia their second loss of the tournament, promptly ending the Mountaineers tournament championship dreams. After falling behind early 3-0, the Wildcats took control of the game in the 4th inning with seven runs of their own. Each team would add one more run apiece to make the final score 8-4. Up next for Kansas State is the loser of Game 6 between Oklahoma and TCU. In the second game on Wednesday, Oklahoma showed why it was the No. 1 team in the Big 12 tournament by shutting out TCU. The Sooners allowed just four hits...

If Cowboys first-rounder Tyler Guyton wants to kick off his career as well as some of his predecessors at left tackle, the rookie has a lot of work ahead of him this summer. Adjusting to the pace of play and the dominant forces opposing him on the defensive line will be key, and he’s working with third-round pick Cooper Beebe to acclimate as best as he can. “Most definitely (we’re leaning on each other), it’s new for both of us,” Guyton told reporters last week. “We came from the same conference. I already knew who he was and we were pretty cool before this but now that we’re together, we’re p...

In that time, he appeared in 31 games for the Wildcats, including starts in just over half of those with 16. While with K-State, Ames averaged 5.2 points, a pair of assists, and 1.1 rebounds. He did so while shooting 35.3% from the field and 32.9% from three. Ames had several decent outings while with the Wildcats this last season. By trading down in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys may have locked up their center of the future. Moving down five spots, the Cowboys added a third-round pick, which they used to draft former Kansas State star Cooper Beebe. According to head coach Mike McCarthy, the team is already preparing the former Wildcat for his move from guard to center as they work toward OTAs next week. “All these young men have made a great first impression,” McCarthy said after rookie minicamp. “Cooper’s looked very good over the ball. His communication has been excellent. He’s got that sh*...

Arkansas had a tumultuous journey before eventually landing John Calipari as its next men’s basketball head coach. In a recent story by CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd, Tyson Foods chairman and Arkansas booster John Tyson pulled back the curtain on the Razorbacks’ extensive coaching search. “Tyson first called his coaching friend to ask if he’d speak to [Arkansas athletics director Hunter] Yurachek about vetting candidates,” Dodd wrote. “Yurachek called Calipari that night.
