The recent Investigation Discovery documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV detailed a variety of alleged misdeeds and mismanagement behind the scenes of Nickelodeon and its array of children’s sitcoms during the 1990s. The accusations it contained ranged from overwork all the way up to allegations of child sexual abuse. A lot of screen time in the series was devoted to Dan Schneider, who was a huge figure at Nickelodeon during that period as a producer on shows like All That, Drake & Josh, The Amanda Show, iCarly, and others. Jerry Seinfeld says that “the extreme left and P.C. crap” has had a negative impact on the world of comedy, particularly on television. Seinfeld made the remarks while promoting his new Netflix comedy film Unfrosted in an interview with The New Yorker. Asked whether bleak current events affected the world of comedy, he said that nothing did that because “people always need” humor. But then he proceeded to explain that the aforementioned forces, as Seinfeld saw it, were essentially bringing about the end of comedy on TV, “It used to be, you would go home at the end of the day, most people would...

Scooby-Doomay be returning to live-action — this time as a streaming television series. Although there were several live-action Scooby-Doo films made in the past — including two theatrical films that were written by a pre-Guardians of the Galaxy James Gunn — Scooby-Doo has traditionally been an animated property on television. According to Variety, while the show is being produced by Warner Bros., it would likely premiere on Netflix instead of Warners’ own Max. They note that “the one-hour drama project is said to be nearing a deal at the streamer with a script-to-series commitment. Exact plot...

The Jetsons cartoon only lasted three season in the mid 1960s but wow what an impact. It’s such a fun, futuristic, creatively written cartoon that dare I say most of us watched in syndication in the 1970s,1980s, and 1990s (I’m assuming). The Jetsons first aired in 1962 following the family of four with George and his wife Jane and their two children, Judy and Elroy in the year 2062. They lived in Orbit City here on earth with their dog Astro, and Rosey the robot who was their live-in maid. You can even stream it today if you want with plenty of streaming apps and services popping up in my Goog...
