Woodruff punch with strawberries

Ingredients for 6 people:

1 bunch woodruff
500 g small strawberries
1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine
2 tablespoons peach liqueur
1 bottle (750 ml) sparkling wine, iced
Also:
Ice cubes
Woodruff for decoration

Preparation:

1. Tie the woodruff together at the stems. Wash the strawberries, clean and halve. Mix the strawberries and woodruff in the white wine with liqueur for about 30 minutes. Remove the woodruff.

2. Add ice cubes and some fresh woodruff to decorate the punch.

3. Top up with sparkling wine and serve immediately.

Tip for a variation with woodruff syrup:

Ingredients for approx. 6 people:

125 ml woodruff syrup (tastiest homemade).
500 g small strawberries
1 bottle (750 ml) white wine (dry)
1 bottle (750 ml) of sparkling wine, iced.
Also:
Woodruff for decoration
Ice cubes

Preparation:

1. Mix 2 tablespoons of syrup and ½ litre of water (if you like, add a few drops of green food colouring) and freeze overnight to make ice cubes. Freeze overnight.

2. Wash, clean and halve the strawberries. Steep in white wine mixed with the remaining syrup for about 30 minutes.

3. Add the prepared ice cubes and fresh woodruff to the punch for decoration.
Add to the punch.

4. Top up with sparkling wine and serve immediately.
