Burger with cranberry relish

Ingredients for 4 people:

400 g minced beef
salt
Pepper
1 tablespoon oil
For the relish
1 courgette (approx. 200 g)
2 white onions (approx. 200 g)
1 green chilli pepper
2 tbsp oil
50 ml white wine vinegar
40 g sugar
2 tsp mustard seeds
250 g cranberries (from the jar)
Salt

Also:

4 burger buns with sesame seeds, each 50 g
2 tbsp mayonnaise (60 g)
2 tsp hot mustard
4 lettuce leaves

Preparation:

1. Season the minced beef well with salt and pepper. Knead the minced meat. Shape 4 flat burger steaks from the mince with moistened hands and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.

2. Rinse and clean the courgettes and dice very finely. Peel the onions and also
dice. Clean, rinse and chop the chilli pepper. Heat the oil in a pot. Sauté the onions, chilli and courgettes in it. Add the white wine vinegar, sugar, mustard seeds and 125 g Odenwald cranberries and let everything boil down for about 10 minutes while stirring, until almost all the liquid has evaporated. Add the remaining Stir in the remaining cranberries. Season to taste with salt. Leave to cool.

3. Fry the minced steaks in the hot oil for approx. 3 minutes on both sides.

4. Bake the burger buns in the oven according to the instructions on the packet. Mix the mayonnaise with the mustard. Slice the buns and spread the mustard mayonnaise on the bottom halves. Place lettuce leaf and burger on top. Spread a little relish on top and place the top half on top. Serve the rest of the relish on the side.

Preparation time approx. 45 minutes + chilling time
