Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel stressed that Champions League opponents Lazio have "nothing to do" with their preparations for the Bundesliga match at Freiburg on Friday.

Bayern host the Italian team on Tuesday for the second leg of their last 16 tie after suffering a 1-0 defeat in the first game.

"Lazio has nothing to do with it. It's only about tomorrow," Tuchel said in a news conference on Thursday.

"The match takes place before Lazio. It's a completely different match. The best preparation for one match is a successful performance. We have to take it up a notch," he said.

The German record champions are also in a complicated situation in the Bundesliga, sitting eight points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

"We know our situation in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League. We have to give it our all tomorrow and deliver. That's where all our energy has to go," Tuchel said.

Winger Leroy Sané is doubtful for Friday's game and will do a test later on Thursday to see if he can train with the team.

"He has a lot of aches and pains and is paying a bit of a price for the overload. We'll see if he can make the squad tomorrow and perhaps help us from the bench," Tuchel said.

Serge Gnabry and Alphonso Davies are recovered from injury and back in training, but the game comes too early for Gnabry. Davies, meanwhile, will be in the squad.

Kingsley Coman, Sacha Boey and Noussair Mazraoui aren't available, Tuchel said.
