Tottenham Hotspur star Guglielmo Vicario has raved about Emiliano Martinez, a player Arsenal sold a few years ago to Aston Villa.
The Argentine was always a top goalkeeper, but he has developed into one of the best in the Premier League since leaving Arsenal. He has now become an inspiration of sorts to a Tottenham player.

Guglielmo Vicario has been a great signing for Tottenham this season.
The Italian has hit the ground running in England, and he has now revealed that he studies two Premier League goalkeepers so that he can improve.
One of them is former Arsenal star Emiliano Martinez.
The Argentina international spent about a decade in North London. He was out on loan more often than not, but he did make a huge impact in his final few months at the club by helping us win the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
Martinez has been amazing for Aston Villa since joining them in 2020, so much so that Tottenham goalkeeper Vicario has admitted now that he studies him.
He told ESPN: “Emi Martínez and Alisson are for me the two top keepers in the league so if I have to say someone, I say these two guys because they are doing unbelievable.
“They play with risk, take risks playing from the back, they are very brave to go out and to clear situations so of course I look to other keepers.”
David Raya is better than both Vicario and Martinez
It took a while for Arsenal fans to accept David Raya, but he has now won everyone over.
The Spaniard has had a difficult first few months at the club where he made a few mistakes. However, he has arguably been the best goalkeeper in the Premier League recently.
Despite only playing 22 times and taking his time to settle in, Raya has kept nine clean sheets in the Premier League this season – more than any other goalkeeper in the entire division.
Emi Martinez has only kept six, while Guglielmo Vicario, who Spurs fans have been raving about, has managed just five despite playing four more games than Raya.
To add to that, Arsenal’s Spanish goalkeeper has conceded just 19 goals in the Premier League this season, while Vicario has let in 39. Martinez, on the other hand, has allowed 35 goals to go in.
You can say what you want, but we’re convinced Arsenal’s Raya is better than both Vicario and Martinez.
