'He's a danger': Stephen Warnock thinks 26-year-old and four others can keep Nottingham Forest up

Stephen Warnock has discussed the relegation battle and believes Nottingham Forest still have a strong chance of staying up this season.

The pundit was speaking on The 2 Robbies Podcast.

So, what did Warnock have to say aboutForest? Let’s take a closer look…

Stephen Warnock delivers Nottingham Forest relegation verdict

Well, it’s certainly getting towards the period of the season when Forest supporters will be sitting pretty uncomfortable.

Next up for the Reds is a humdinger of a game against Luton and quite frankly, Forest have to win the contest.

If the Reds go to Kenilworth Road and get beat, the fat lady will be firmly clearing out her throat.

Warnock, however, thinks Forest might just have enough to stay up given the amount of firepower available to Nuno Espirito Santo.

He told The 2 Robbies Podcast: “I would be worried, however, having watched them against Liverpool last week, I was at the game and they do cause a threat and they’ve got goals in the team.

“But, you’ve got to be clinical and score the chances. Anthony Elanga went through last week one-on-one, he might have been offside but he’s got to score and ask the questions after.

“Awoniyi needs to be fully fit, I think he’s a danger but with Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Origi they’ve got great options there I think.

“Because of the firepower I give them more of a chance but I think with what is lingering over them, is that in the back of the minds.”

Forest have to start focusing on their own destiny

Okay, there was another situation yesterday where Forest can point to the officials and once again ask the question.

However, the Reds have to start getting their own house in order – and certainly, Espirito Santo wasn’t immune to critique yesterday.

The team he picked saw Forest revert to a 4-3-3 and frankly, it backfired and gave Brighton the impetus before a ball was kicked.

Warnock does make some good points on Forest and having the points deduction news come through would certainly be ideal.

Forest do have strong players but it’s now time they start to showcase their class on the pitch.
