Well, it appears as though Forest might not have to wait much longer to find out exactly what their punishment will be.
Everton had been deducted 10 points earlier this season but they received four of them back upon appeal.
Now, The Athletic has claimed that Forest could receive their punishment this week, with an outcome expected before Friday.
Forest face Luton on Saturday in a game that looks absolutely gigantic at this stage of the season.
Losing to the Hatters doesn’t look fathomable and if another defeat is on the cards, it will surely pile the pressure on Nuno Espirito Santo.
Given that Everton also face another points deduction, there could be some question marks over the integrity of this campaign – and Forest will be hoping for a best-case scenario.
Reds need burden easing and outcome is positive
At this stage, Forest need a lift and it seems clear that with everything hanging over them, it’s impacting the team on the pitch.
Having some clarity – regardless of the outcome – could be positive in itself and at least then it’s something which Forest can park and move on from.
The Reds desperately need something to go their way and the next three games against Luton, Crystal Palace and Fulham are going to be season-defining.
