'They may not realise': Neco Williams shares what Forest fans haven't yet noticed about Nuno Espirito Santo

Nottingham Forest right-back Neco Williams has shared details of how Nuno Espirito Santo has impressed him behind the scenes.

Forest go into the weekend sitting just three points off the drop zone as they travel to fellow strugglers Luton Town.

However, Neco Williams has provided fans with an insight as to what Nuno Espirito Santo is really like away from the pitch.

Williams hails Nuno Espirito Santo

It has certainly been a tricky return to the Premier League for the Portuguese manager as his Forest side battle for survival.

The 50-year-old has voiced his frustrations towards the officials in recent weeks as decisions continue to go against his side.

Four consecutive defeats in the Premier League will be tough for anyone to take, but it seems he is still impressing players behind the scenes.

Speaking to the club’s website ahead of Saturday’s game, Williams said: “Since he’s come in he’s created a new style for us which all the players are onboard with and really enjoying.

“He’s so passionate about the players and the fans. The fans may not see that because it’s inside our bubble every day, but they may not realise how passionate he is.

“I’m really enjoying working with him at the minute, we have a close bond and I’m always looking to improve, so whenever I need any advice, I know his door is always open.

“When he first came in, I went to go and see him and asked him what I can improve on and he told me straight away, which is what I have been trying to work on each day since.

“At the minute we are doing everything we can to get these points for him.”

Huge opportunity for Forest

Every game must be seen as a must-win for a side battling the drop at this stage of the season.

However, this game on the weekend at Kenilworth Road has to be a game where Forest are eyeing a big opportunity at three points.

Rob Edwards’ side have shown a lot of positives this season, but they have also shown a lot of frailties.

Their defeat during the week against Bournemouth went a long way to summing up their season so far.

But three points for the hosts on Saturday could put Forest into the bottom three.

It is the prime example of what pundits call a ‘six-pointer’. A win for Forest would see them pull six points clear of Luton and the relegation zone.

That may easier said than done, however, considering Forest have just one win in the Premier League since Decemeber.

But going off Williams’ comments, it seems Espirito Santo is doing the right things behind the scenes to keep his players on side ahead of the business end of the season.
