My 600-lb Life’s James B had a music career

My 600-lb Life cast member James B was living in Florida while pursuing a music career, where he met his partner, who attempted to put them both on a diet, but later moved back to New York with family.

Having reached more than 600lbs, he knew the weight loss was a “now or never situation” for him before his journey began, when he had to take regular breaks when going down the stairs at home.

James’ cousin, Cheyenne, was there to support him as he tried to “mentally prepare” to diet. With hopes he’ll be able to get the help he needs for a better life, the reality star was ready to transform.

Food delivery addiction got worse

James B originally came from a household where his father was mostly absent, and indulged in rich Caribbean meals as a child, weighing more than 100 pounds by the time he was six.

As an adult, he ended up becoming 625lbs and was addicted to food deliveries, while tackling serious health issues, both mentally and physically. Even before brushing his teeth, he’d order a breakfast takeaway.

Two slices of steakhouse premium pancakes is a typical order, spending most of his time on the phone to delivery services.

“The amount you can get is crazy. I get excited – it’s like the Superbowl,” he revealed.

When James admitted his food takeaway addiction to Dr Now, the famous health professional said they “deliver salads, too”. With a BMI of almost 104, James said he “needs to get this weight off”.

He managed to lose 119lbs

Dr. Now put James on a strict diet plan to lose 80lbs in two months. However, within three months, his father passed away due to heart complications, which meant James took time away from exercise.

He spent most of his time caring for his mother, and put dieting on the backpedal. This meant the TLC star only lost 20lbs, but managed to get things back on track soon enough.

James went on to lose 119lbs, which made him eligible for weight loss surgery! Despite many clients of Dr. Now moving to Houston, Texas, for support, he decided to remain in New York.

Although he doesn’t share pictures or videos of his progress, James has been sharing several snaps of him enjoying food and going out partying with his loved ones, and appear to be well.
