7 Little Johnstons Delta 8 incident

The words Delta 8 may mean nothing to a lot of people. But for Jonah, who faced an incident while experiencing a synthetic cannabis substance of this name would be something that would stay with him for years.

In an interview with Distractify, Amber and Trent Johnston explained the Delta 8 incident.

Back in 2021, Jonah called his parents and told his father he didn’t know if someone had “slipped something in his drink,” adding: “I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” “I don’t know how to drive this car.”

Trent encouraged his son to slowly stop the car and pull over as Jonah was “hollering through the phone.”

Jonah’s parents found his location via “9-1-1 and Verizon.”

‘Jonah doesn’t have substance abuse issues’

Speaking of their son in the same interview, Trent and Amber addressed “substance abuse” rumors swirling on social media.

Trent said: “We would share that.”

Amber added: “Fortunately that was a one-time thing. He had severe anxiety.”

The two also said they thought they were “parents who would never” see their child going through the experience.

Amber also said how she feels “mental health is overlooked” nowadays, adding: “That’s why we do what we do and we share what we share.”

Speaking on the show about the “legal drug” he had a terrible “reaction” to, Jonah said: “I thought it was a legal strand of cannabis.”

He told his parents: “It won’t happen again,” after explaining how he found the experience to be “dangerous.”

Jonah finds a fun hobby

During 7 Little Johnstons season 14, Liz brings up the Delta 8 scenario as she says her brother’s mental and physical health is improving since then.

Nowadays, Jonah has taken a liking to smoking meat and barbecue.

Speaking of the hobby that takes him to a “happy place,” the TLC star said: “I think that when I’m doing it, I don’t realize how much of a help it is until after I get done with it.”

Liza said: “We’re happy that you’re staying on the good path… health-wise.”
