Moyes says player with just 13 PL starts this season gives West Ham completely different dimension

West Ham United manager David Moyes has been raving about one of his players during his press conference today, ahead of our Premier League clash with Newcastle.

David Moyes was speaking to the press this afternoon ahead of the Newcastle vs West Ham United Premier League clash tomorrow.

The Hammers could be without two key players for the game against the Magpies, with Nayef Aguerd and Lucas Paqueta currently both being assessed by the medical team.

With the race for the top seven really starting to heat up now, West Ham cannot afford to lose to Newcastle tomorrow.

We’re currently sitting three places and four points clear of the Toon in the table, although we have played one game more than them.

If we are to get a result tomorrow, we have to play on the front foot and really get them thinking about the problems we can cause them.

We have one player in particular who will cause havoc tomorrow, if he’s on his best form…

The Scot addressed the media today during his pre-match press conference ahead of our clash with Newcastle tomorrow.

And Moyes singled out one West Ham player who could make a real difference for us.

The Hammers boss highlighted how Michail Antonio gives his team a different dimension, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“Mick’s back, now we need his goals I think having Michail Antonio back has given us another dimension. It’s one that we’ve had in the past but you’ve got to remember that he’s been out since November. Our results have been good. We’ve had some really good periods with and without Mick, but he scored a really good goal for us the other week against Aston Villa. It’s his goals we need him to add. I think to be a team at the top of the Premier League, you need to have regulars goal-scorers and goals getting scored.”

Funnily enough, I suggested here on Hammers News only yesterday that Antonio has a key role to play for us between now and the end of the season.

Antonio has played 17 Premier League games for West Ham under Moyes this season, with 13 of those being starts (Who Scored).

He should be fresh as a daisy heading into the final two months of the season, having missed three months of action earlier this term.

Let’s hope that Mick turns up at St James’ Park tomorrow and gives the Newcastle defenders nightmares.
