39-yo 'supercoach' West Ham want to replace Moyes could be Liverpool bound, Romano claims

The new Liverpool manager could be someone who West Ham United are eyeing up according to Fabrizio Romano.

Jurgen Klopp is set to leave Anfield in the summer, and Fabrizio Romano has named someone who is the leading candidate to be the new Liverpool manager.

West Ham boss David Moyes is under real pressure right now, and as things stand, he still hasn’t been handed a new contract with his current one set to expire in the summer.

The Hammers manager has been criticised for the painfully negative style of football he implements at the London Stadium.

The 60-year-old has worked wonders for West Ham since returning to the club in December 2019 but the general consensus is that he’s reached his ceiling in charge of the East London outfit.

Can he take us on to the next level? It’s highly doubtful really isn’t, but there’s one man who definitely could as far as I’m concerned.

The problem is that he’s being chased by Liverpool…

It seems as though the Hammers will really have our work cut-out if we are to bring in someone who would be the dream appointment for us.

West Ham owners are said to be on the look-out for potential replacements for Moyes ahead of the summer.

And one of the names being considered by the Hammers board is thought to be firmly on the Liverpool radar.

Ruben Amorim is the man who the Merseyside outfit could appoint to replace Klopp this summer.

In fact, Romano claims that he’s the lead candidate right now to take over from the German:

Make no mistake about it, Amorim is the absolute perfect manager to come in and take the Hammers to the next level, and it has been claimed that he’s on the radar of the club’s owners to replace Moyes (Claret and Hugh).

Described by The Athletic as Europe’s new ‘supercoach’, the 39-year-old is one of the hottest properties on the continent right now.

He deploys a 3-4-3 system that switches into a 5-2-3 when defending. His likes his team to play a really aggressive high press, and in order to get this to work, his players have to be highly energetic and physically robust.

Sporting knocked Arsenal out of the Europa League last season, and played some really lovely stuff in the process.

Amorim has only been managing for six years and has been in charge of Sporting since 2020.

Since then, he has transformed the Portuguese giants into one of the most enthralling teams to watch on the planet.

The 39-year-old guided Sporting to the league title in the 2020/21 season and the league cup in the same campaign. He also won the same cup competition a year later – a trophy that he guided Braga to in the 2019/20 season.

His side are currently sitting at the top of the league, one point clear of second placed Benfica with a game in hand.

I would absolutely love Amorim at West Ham. Unfortunately for us though, Fabrizio Romano seems to think there’s a good chance he’ll be the new Liverpool manager.
