'Wiped me out': Jarrod Bowen claims £17m Tottenham player hacked him last night and nobody noticed

Jarrod Bowen has now shared his frustration regarding a foul that was missed during West Ham United’s draw with Tottenham Hotspur last night.

It was a frantic game from start to finish and both David Moyes and Ange Postecoglou must be feeling unlucky not to have won the game.

Both sides had excellent chances to win it, and in truth it’s quite baffling that the scoreline did stay level.

Perhaps Michail Antonio and Destiny Udogie had the best of the late chances, with neither player able to steer the ball past the goalkeeper.

Of course, Jarrod Bowen also had a strong chance or two during the game, but ultimately had to settle for providing the assist for Kurt Zouma’s equaliser.

The England international was dangerous throughout as you’d expect, perhaps West Ham’s best player on the day.

That being said, Bowen wasn’t particularly happy with an incident that went unnoticed late on.

Speaking in an interview after the game, Bowen felt as if Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario completely wiped him out, when he could have helped salvage a winner for West Ham.

Bowen was speaking about several missed chances overall and mentioned the moment with the £17m-keeper that left him particularly frustrated.

The interviewer initially asked: “Since you mentioned it there, obviously most of us are following the ball because we’re hoping it drops and someone can nod it in – but you reckon the keeper has caught you late, there?”

Bowen said: “Yeah definitely caught me late [right at the end], but we obviously didn’t get the decision.

“I think Tomas [Soucek] played me through and it was one of those bouncing ones where I was trying to help it on, but I felt as if the keeper wiped me out.”

A situation that will no doubt just add to West Ham’s frustrations on an evening in which they felt they could have secured a seismic win for their run in.

Following the Newcastle result as well, Moyes must be baffled how he hasn’t won either game, coming away with just a point.

However, as Jarrod Bowen’s performance against Tottenham showed, there were plenty of positives and reason for optimism with that Bayer Leverkusen tie approaching.

All that being said, Chris Sutton recently shared his verdict on a controversial West Ham moment from the weekend.
