‘The more I think about it’: Alan Brazil now shares who he thinks will go through… Arsenal or Bayern Munich

Alan Brazil has delivered his verdict on Arsenal’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich.

Arsenal head into tonight’s first leg at the Emirates Stadium as heavy favourites, with Bayern Munich enduring a difficult season under Thomas Tuchel.

The opposite can be said about Mikel Arteta’s side as they lead the way in the Premier League following a 3-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.

Many are tipping the Gunners to have enough to beat Bayern over two legs, with Glenn Hoddle labelling Arsenal as favourites already this week.

The north Londoners have been near-flawless in the league since the turn of the year and have picked up 10 wins from their last 11 games.

In contrast, Bayern are 16 points off the pace in the Bundesliga, with Bayer Leverkusen just one win away from securing the title.

The German giants have also suffered back-to-back defeats in the league heading into tonight’s game.

Brazil’s Arsenal vs Bayern Munich prediction

Speaking on talkSPORT, Brazil explained why he’s backing Arsenal to book their place in the semi-finals over Bayern.

“The more I think about it I can’t see Bayern knocking Arsenal out, unless Harry takes a couple of half chances,” the pundit said.

“Their centre-backs are too good. Declan sitting protecting. Odegaard has been brilliant. I can see them having much more protection.”

Arsenal will have to improve on Porto performances

Despite the fact that Bayern have been way below their best this season, Arsenal will have to be at their best to knock the German giants out.

Bayern have a brilliant record against the Gunners in the Champions League and have knocked them out of the competition on three occasions.

Arsenal had to rely on David Raya’s brilliance in a penalty shootout to advance to the quarter-finals.

Arteta’s side will have to perform better over the course of two legs against Bayern. But they will have taken plenty from the experience in the previous round against Porto.
