Gers conspiracy revealed by Jim White as postponement farce takes another twist

The fallout from Rangers postponed game against Dundee continues after the second attempt was rearranged for next week.

Having five games postponed is unacceptable and it is no wonder that the Dens Park outfit are facing disciplinary action, Gers boss Philippe Clement not shy of venting his frustration.

According to Jim White on Talksport though, Rangers have been just as guilty in creating the problem with Dundee also playing their part.

Rangers v Dundee farce sees Talksport reveal twist

The fundamental problem is because of the state of Dundee’s pitch.

However, according to White, Rangers could have played the rearranged game against Dundee last week, a few days before the pivotal Old Firm derby.

Now, there have been no other sources who have made this claim and White hasn’t revealed where he got this information from.

Secondly, why should Rangers agree to that situation when they don’t have to?

It’s not Rangers problem to make sure Dundee’s pitch is up to scratch.

The plot thickened when a caller to the Jim White and Simon Jordan show phoned up and set the controversial pair right.

In response to Jordan slamming Rangers for being hypocrites and grand standing, she claimed that the game couldn’t be played last week because of Sky Sports.

The game was due to be on TV and there was already a full fixture list at night, Dundee wanted the game to be played at 3pm and Sky Sports knocked back the request.

On the face of it, it looks like White and Jordan have dropped this information in looking to cause controversy, similar to what Chris Sutton did on X claiming that the contingency is to have the game played at Ibrox.

It wouldn’t be the first time that the pair have been economical with the truth or bent it to fit an entertainment agenda.

Jordan’s claim about Rangers not letting Celtic fans into Ibrox was also inaccurate, as was his intepretation about the cinch/Douglas Park dispute.

Would the former Crystal Palace owner have reacted differently had his self-interests had been affected by a deal in which he raised concerns?

I don’t think so.

Status quo for Rangers with delayed game despite cup nuisance

Delaying the game another week helps Philippe Clement to a certain extent even if he was frustrated about not knowing what his training schedule was going to be.

Players in the squad like Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo will have an extra week’s worth of training in their legs and should be closer to full fitness.

However, Rangers now face having less time to prepare for a Scottish Cup semi-final with Hearts at Hampden next weekend.

In fairness, every game is a cup final between now and the end of the season so it shouldn’t matter when Rangers play Dundee.

All that matters is that we win.
