Tottenham Hotspur are in danger of losing out on the fourth spot to Aston Villa after the defeat to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
Spurs suffered a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Newcastle United away from home at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
Newcastle were the better side and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter. Tottenham Hotspur were defensively poor against the Magpies.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are now fifth in the Premier League table with 60 points from 32 matches. Aston Villa are level on points in fourth because they have scored more goals.

Van de Ven has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season, but he was at fault for the first two goals that Newcastle scored.
Aston Villa cannot get complacent
Just because Aston Villa are now fourth does not mean that Unai Emery’s side should get complacent.
The Villans will take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday. The Gunners have one of the best and strongest teams in the Premier League and are aiming to win the title this season.
While Tottenham do have a tough run-in, Villa will not find it easy to win matches against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in the final weeks of the season.
