Gers star dismisses Celtic title claim as "not something we're worried about" as he lays gauntlet

Rangers have it all to do in the title race under Philippe Clement after the blip against Ross County.

With six games to go, every game is must win starting with Dundee tonight and the Gers boss will be hoping that the weekend was a one off and that his squad can get back on track.

Speaking ahead of the game, Jack Butland is under no illusions what needs to be done if Rangers are to end the season as title winners and isn’t phased about having to go to Parkhead needing to win the title.

No title panic as Jack Butland maintains Rangers focus

Before the disaster in Dingwall, we had a bit of leg room at the top of the table if we won our games in hand, now though, we can’t give anything.

What is clear, with the final Old Firm derby being played on game three of the split, is that the next three games all have to be won.

That it is at Parkhead doesn’t seem to bother Jack Butland with Rangers number one reflecting on the job in hand:

“We’ve done extremely well to get to where we are. We’ve come from behind; we were way adrift.

“One point, if we win the game tomorrow, is not something that is unattainable, it’s not something that can’t be done and hasn’t been done before.

“It’s not something that we are worried about, we know what we’ve got to do, wherever the games are played.

“We’ve got to win every game, and that’s what we’ll be looking to do.”

Rangers have to remember what got them in title race

Butland is right, it’s not defeatist to remember where we were when Philippe Clement arrived at Ibrox, if anything, it provides clarity and the chance to calm down and look at what this Rangers team is capable under his charge.

First and foremost, Rangers have to beat Dundee because, one point is nothing with five games to go.

After the split, Rangers go first too so there is an early opportunity to go top and put the pressure back on Celtic, again, if we beat Dundee.

This is how it is going to be for the rest of the season, nip and tuck.

If Rangers lose the league by a point, then we will look back at the Ross County defeat and Cyriel Dessers’ miss as the day that we threw it away, however, if we win, then it will been seen as the springboard for success.

Only the players can decide which one of these it is to be.
