Tottenham now reportedly eager to swoop for 'wonderful' £60m playmaker likened to Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window as Ange Postecoglou continues on his project at N17.

The Tottenham boss has worked wonders in his maiden season at Spurs and, despite the odd hitch, the possibility of Champions League qualification remains.

Tottenham were busy in both the summer transfer window and the January market, one of the few Premier League sides that were active in the latter.

Spurs still have work to do, so it’s likely that they’ll make more reinforcements, particularly if they secure European qualification for next season.

Tottenham are said to be on the lookout for midfield reinforcements, and one player apparently on their radar has been likened to former Spurs star Christian Eriksen.

The player in question is Georgiy Sudakov, and according to CaughtOffside, Tottenham are ‘seriously considering’ a move for the Shakhtar Donetsk ace.

‘Scouting has shown Sudakov would be a good fit with Ange Postecoglou’s system,’ added the report.

In terms of price tag, it would apparently take at least €70million (£60million) to strike a deal with Shakhtar, who are in no rush to lose the 21-year-old.

Better still for Tottenham, the report claims that Liverpool and Chelsea are not currently pursuing Sudakov, while Arsenal have made ‘no concrete approach to date’.

What could Georgiy Sudakov bring to Tottenham Hotspur?

Sudakov has come through the ranks at Shakhtar and has made a name for himself as one of their best players and main assets.

The Ukraine international has made 95 competitive appearances for the club, registering 17 goals and 15 assists. He also has 14 caps for his country.

Back in 2021, Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout likened Sudakov’s style of play to that of Manchester United and Denmark ace Christian Eriksen.

More recently, 90Min described the reported Spurs target as a ‘dynamic and attacking central midfielder drawing style of play comparisons to the likes of Luka Modric and Thiago Alcantara.’

Tottenham could certainly do with bringing in competition for James Maddison in the close season.

And what better option than a ‘wonderful‘ talent with his whole career ahead of him who has been compared to the likes of Eriksen and Modric?
