Journalist says 21-year-old Man City target simply isn't for sale this summer

One of Manchester City’s transfer targets for the upcoming summer window is reportedly not for sale.

Even though the Citizens still have two major titles to fight for before the season ends and the next summer transfer window opens for business, there have been reports concerning which players the Manchester club apparently have their eyes on.

However, some behind-the-scenes details have now emerged regarding one particular figure that the Blues have been linked with recently.

Journalist says Man City transfer target isn’t for sale

In a recent post shared on his official X account, Florian Plettenberg had this to say on the matter.

He said: “Jamal Musiala is definitely not for sale in summer. Max Eberl won’t even consider any offers. All of the bosses have decided that.

“There’s no price tag as the 21 y/o is supposed to be the focal point of this team in the future. But no doubt, he’s on the list of all top teams. Same for Man City.

“Bayern [Munich] still want to extend his contract 2026 beyond very soon.

“For Musiala, it is important to know how the club will be structured in the future, who the coach will be, etc.”

It’s easy to see why Jamal Musiala isn’t for sale

Since joining the German club, Musiala, who City are reportedly preparing a big move for in the summer, has made 161 senior appearances in all competitions.

Across those appearances, the 21-year-old has scored 43 goals and supplied 30 assists, highlighting how much of a dangerous player the attacking-midfielder is when it comes to delivering goal contributions for his team.

This makes it easy to see why City have him on their radar and why Bayern are apparently desperate to keep hold of him this summer.

While there is still some speculation about who will be in charge of Bayern next season, this may play into City’s hands if Musiala wants to leave the German club and start a new chapter in his career somewhere else.

Moving forward, we feel that if there’s even a small chance of securing a deal for the German this summer, this is definitely something City should pursue.
