TV performer slammed for being 'inappropriate' as viewers 'hate entire audition'

Burping might not have been on any Britain’s GotTalent viewers’ bingo card this series. But, series 17 kicked off with a bang – or a belch – should we say. Kimberly Winter took to the BGT stage to show off her burping skills this April. While some judges were amused by her act, others quite literally darted for the nearest exit.

Kimberly Winter spends her days as a full-time mum. And, at 34 years old she opted to try her luck on the Britain’s Got Talent stage with a bout of burping for the audience to enjoy. Kimberly was all smiles as she took to the stage, and as the backing track for ABBA’s The Winner Takes It All played, Amanda Holden was eager to find out Kimberly’s talent.

Kimberly Winter’s BGT burping audition

Ant and Dec were anticipating what was to come as they joked Kimberly was surely about to perform “something classical” like “Ave Maria.”

After lulling the judges and audience members into a false sense of security with the nice ABBA track, Kimberly then let loose with her burps, much to everyone’s shock.

Her first belch made Alesha Dixon jump out of her chair, and an audience member said: “Oh, that’s appalling.”

Alesha and Bruno were unimpressed

During the bizarre audition, Alesha and Bruno were quick to make their opinion on the act known as they slammed down their buzzers.

Bruno joked that Kimberly could do with an alka setzler, while Amanda just appeared to be in shock and Simon said: “We weren’t expecting that.”

Simon asked: “Did you really fly in from America to burp at me?”

Kimberly said: “Yes, Simon,” before the head honcho said the act was “so stupid” it was actually good.

Bruno suggested the burping act shouldn’t go any further in the competition. But, Amanda actually started joining in with Kimberly, burping into her microphone.

The other judges’ love for Kimberly ended up changing Bruno’s mind and he reversed his vote, meaning she could proceed in the competition.

Simon thinks the audience loves her

During Kimberly’s BGT audition, Simon was convinced the audience “loved” her.

However, a quick look at the comments on the burp-a-thon of an audition and many viewers seem totally grossed out.

One person asked: “Is it just me who hated the entire audition?”

And more said the act was “nonsense” and “inappropriate.”

Another said: “How stupid can this act be?”

More said: “At least Bruno and Amanda had common sense.”

Others described the audition as “shocking,” but there were a few people who said the act made them laugh, dubbing it “hilarious.”
